COREY MELLO JOHNSON

FOUNDER

Corey was a resident of Sanford, Florida. He was a lover of Music as displayed during his Disc Jockey Events. He was loved by his many relatives and friends. He became an organizer of his community after the unpunished deaths of Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, and Eric Garner. Corey saw Sanford as more than just a place where family dwelled. He decided to do more for the young boys and girls of his community by forming a group of his peers to be better role models. New Sanford was a fitting name to usher in a new direction for everyone.

Corey has since left his legacy on April 15, 2016. We honor his life by building this organization to be the best it can be.

Rest In Peace Corey “Mello” Johnson

Here’s a list of things we are actively doing

Create

Create a program within Sanford that involve the community as a whole and its youth via sporting events, seminars and active participation within the entire City of Sanford etc.

Reach

Reach out to  churches and organizations to see what programs they have and see if the group will be able to help strengthen that program and implement one that will be able to encompass all of the community.

Provide

Provide a means of open communication within the community so that the elected officials and residents will have that open forum for communication and trust of our elected officials.

Trust

Provide a way for the Police department and community to form a partnership in which this code of silence can be broken so that the community and police will be able to trust one another because they need us and we need them.
